The Importance of Weaning

If you are having trouble trying to determine when the right time is to wean your baby, you should know that it will involve a little bit of guessing on your behalf. However, the health professionals have stated the right time to wean your baby is around the age of six months.

The Importance of Weaning

Then you have others who will say the right time to wean the baby is around the age of four months. So, we say somewhere between the age of four to six months would be fine to introduce solid foods to your baby. Between these ages, your babies’ digestive system, jaw and mouth are ready to be introduced to solid foods. If your baby does not seem to like solid foods at first, then you should persist and never give up.
You should not wait too long to start weaning your baby and getting the baby on solid food because what the baby is getting out of the milk is not enough nutrition at this age. When you start feeding your baby solid foods, you should make sure you have bibs. The bibs will be put around the baby’s neck. The bibs will prevent the food from getting on the babies clothing and they come in handy. You shouldn’t waste all of your money on bibs that are expensive, because the baby will more than likely spit out more food on them than they eat. The cheap bibs will work just as fine and your baby will not be wearing the bibs all day – just during dinner time.
